Assessment
By using the Sensory Profile, (developed by Proessor Winnie Dunn), an Occupational Therapist can assess what difficulties your child may experience with sensory processing, and how these affect his or her daily life. This can help the parents and teachers of the child to better understand why the child exhibits certain behaviours or reactions.
Intervention
By understanding how the child processes sensory information, Brainy Blocks is able to work with the parents and teachers to understand why the child may behave or react in a certain manner. Brainy Blocks Occupational Therapy can then work with the parents and teachers of the child to provide a ‘sensory diet' that is right for the child, and to customise their home and school environment and activities. This enables the parents and teachers to create environments, routines and activities which are more conducive for learning, social interaction, play other tasks.
